Please read the following legal terms and conditions carefully. By accepting this legal terms electronically, you agree to these on behalf of the team identified in the on-line application form and represent and ensure that i) the team members in respect of whom you agree to the Odysseus Contest Rules and Legal Terms will comply with these Rules and Legal Terms; and ii) you agree to these Legal Terms and Rules and iii) you warrant that you would request from the parents / legal guardians of the team members to provide, permission for their child/ward to participate in this Contest and to agree to the Odysseus Legal Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Rules.

If you are not willing to be bound by these Legal Terms, please do not accept them electronically and the registration process will not continue.

If you are a minor, review these legal terms and the privacy policy with your parent or legal guardian before you register in the Odysseus contest. Your parent or legal guardian must submit to the team coach a signed parental consent form in order to enable you to participate in the contest.

  1. Participants to the Odysseus Contest must be 14 to 18 years old at the time of their team’s entry submission. Prior to approval by the Odysseus Contest Organizers (Odysseus Project Consortium) of participation in the Odysseus Contest by any participant, the team coach will require a parent or legal guardian of such minor to complete, sign and return the Parental Consent Form available via the Odysseus Contest website. The team coach is responsible for maintaining all such signed Parental Consent Forms of his /her team members and will provide them to the Organizers upon request.
  2. By participating in the Odysseus Contest, the students acknowledge and accept the conditions laid out in the Odysseus Contest Rules.
  3. Odysseus Contest participants shall provide the Odysseus Contest Organizers with certain registration information as set forth in the on-line registration form when registering a team to participate in the Odysseus Contest. The team coach represents and warrants that, the registration information is true, accurate, and complete and that he / she will maintain and promptly update this information to keep it true, accurate and complete. If the members of his / her team provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, or the Odysseus Contest Organizers have reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, the Organizers have the right to suspend or terminate the participants’ access to the Odysseus Contest website. The team coach acknowledges and agrees that the Odysseus Contest Organizers are entitled to rely on the information provided to them by the Odysseus Contest participants during on-line registration. All registration information is treated in accordance with the Odysseus Privacy Policy.
  4. The closing date for submissions is midnight (Central European Time) on 15th February 2013 and any submissions received after this time will not be considered for the competition.
  5. Entries to the Odysseus contest could be submitted only via the Odysseus website. Before a team submits an entry, the team must register and approved by the Organizers. During registration, each team member will receive a unique user name and password. The Organizers may terminate a participant’s or team’s account and block the use of the Odysseus website if a team’s registration is incomplete; data that has been provided is (or the Organizers believe is) untrue, inaccurate, not current, incomplete; or the Organizers are unable to verify any of the team’s registration data.
  6. The entrants are responsible for keeping their team’s account secure and for all activities conducted through their account. The team coach agrees to immediately notify the Organizers of any unauthorized use of his / her team’s account or any breach of the account’s security. Unauthorized access to the Odysseus web site is a breach of these Legal Terms and a violation of law.
  7. Prior to submission, participants must not have offered any of their entries for any publication, or won, or been runner-up in any other students’ contest with any of their entries.
  8. Odysseus Contest participants acknowledge that the information, data, text, sound, photographs, graphics, video, messages or other materials provided to them, by them or otherwise accessible on the Odysseus Contest website may be viewed after the closing of the deadline for entries submission by other participants and users of the website. The participants are responsible for any content that they provide to the Odysseus Contest website. The Odysseus Contest Organizers are not responsible for content that is uploaded or sent by participants.
  9. Odysseus Contest participants are informed that the publication of the student projects, as well as the photos and videos given to the Odysseus Contest Organizers for the contest, have to be accompanied with the transference of the photos, videos and other material copyrights. By entering the Odysseus Contest, except where prohibited by law, each team coach represents and warrants that the Organizers shall have the right and permission to use and announce the names, pictures, voices, background and biographical data, photograph, testimonial, or other likeness and/or prize information or personal exposition, and/or any information contained in their entry for promotional, publicity and/or other purposes in relation to the Odysseus Contest in any and all media, and in any manner, in connection with this Contest and the use of the submitted entry without further review, notice, approval, consideration, or compensation of or to participants. The team coach hereby grants the organizers a royalty-free and non-exclusive license to use, distribute, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and/or publicly display his/ her team’s entries (in whole or in part) in the Odysseus Contest submitted via the Odysseus website in any medium now known or hereafter developed, without further approval by  r payment to the coach or any team member.
  10. Odysseus Contest participants shall retain unlimited copyright on their projects. The Odysseus Contest Organizers shall, receive full rights of use and all participants implicitly agree to the publication of their projects.
  11. Furthermore, Odysseus Contest participants authorize the Organizers to use and publish the existing photo and video material of the participants (including photos and videos taken of the participants at the ceremonies and events of the contest and/ or given by the participants to the Organizers for the Odysseus Contest) free of charge for an unlimited period of time and media publication. In the case of publication, competition participants may not make any demands to the organizers or a third party.
  12. The team coach is responsible for the conduct of his/her team members. The Organizers will have no responsibility or liability for either the team coach conduct or that of his / her team members and by accepting these Legal Terms, the team coach agrees to accept all responsibility and liability for such conduct.
  13. Odysseus Contest participants agree not to post or distribute any material that is: (a) defamatory, abusive, harassing, insulting or threatening to any other person or that could be considered stalking; (b) bigoted, hateful or racially offensive; (c) vulgar, obscene or sexually explicit; or (d) illegal or promoting illegal activity. The Organizers, in their sole discretion, determine what violates this section and they may remove any material that is in violation of any part of these Legal Terms. The Organizers may also remove material that they determine is not appropriate for the Odysseus Contest website and terminate a participant’s account at any time.
  14. The Organizers reserve the right to cancel the Odysseus Contest or alter the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in their opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of their control.
  15. The Organizers reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Odysseus Contest website, or any part thereof, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice to participants. The Organizers are not obligated to support or update the Odysseus website and they will not be liable to any third party if they would modify, suspend or discontinue all or any part of the Odysseus Contest website. The Organizers reserve the right to modify, add or delete portions of these Legal Terms at any time.
  16. The decision of the evaluators is final. All participants hereby accept the incontestable and definitive nature of the evaluation panels’ decisions.
  17. The Organizers reserve the right to request the return of a prize if, at a later date, an entrant has been discovered to be in breach of these terms.
  18. Any breach of these terms by an entrant will void their entry.
